About the role
- Lead Assistant Manager – Coding Auditor is responsible for managing coding audit operations, leading teams, and ensuring delivery excellence.
- This role involves overseeing audit quality, driving performance improvements, and ensuring compliance with coding and payer guidelines.
- The LAM collaborates with stakeholders, develops strategies for quality enhancement, and manages reporting and KPIs.
- Additionally, the role requires strong leadership, decision-making, and process optimization capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences / Nursing / Paramedical or related field.
- Active State Nursing License (mandatory).
- Certifications: CPC / CCS / CPMA (mandatory).
- 8–10 years of experience in medical coding with strong auditing background.
- Extensive experience in multi-specialty coding (Surgery preferred).
- Proven experience in team management and operations leadership.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and payer guidelines.
- Experience in quality management, reporting, and KPI tracking.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of compliance standards (HIPAA, CMS, OIG).
