About the role
- Analyze and document current-state (AS‑IS) functional and technical workflows of existing Credit Risk models and applications
- Lead requirements workshops with Risk, Data, Technology, and Model Development teams
- Define and document future-state (TO‑BE) requirements for re‑platforming on GCP
- Create detailed functional requirements, technical requirements, and data mapping documents
- Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, data specifications, and interface contracts
- Develop end-to-end process flows, workflow diagrams, and system interaction maps using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io, etc.
- Document data lineage, data transformation logic, and upstream/downstream dependencies
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities in the current design
- Perform hands-on data analysis using SQL to validate data requirements, profiling, and transformation logic
- Validate data quality, assess historical patterns, and support remediation of data issues
- Support model teams in understanding data availability, structure, gaps, and required transformations for GCP migration
- Work closely with cloud engineering teams to define technical components required to move workloads to GCP
- Support translation of requirements into GCP-native patterns (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub)
- Assist in preparing migration plans, testing strategy, and validation of cloud-based solutions
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and UAT planning
- Serve as the bridge between business users, data teams, model developers, and GCP engineering teams
- Ensure alignment between regulatory risk requirements and technical implementation
- Support project governance, RAID management, and reporting activities
Requirements
- Strong SQL expertise (querying, joining, profiling, analysis)
- Hands-on experience with data-centric projects involving large datasets, complex transformations, or advanced analytics
- Knowledge of GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, GCE/GKE) or similar cloud platforms
- Experience with data lineage, metadata, ETL concepts, and data modelling
- Ability to read/understand tech design docs, data schemas, and API specs
- Strong understanding of Credit Risk concepts, especially EAD, LGD, PD, IFRS9, Basel frameworks
- Experience supporting risk model re‑engineering, regulatory reporting, or credit analytics projects
- Prior experience documenting requirements for data & cloud migration programs
- Excellent ability to document requirements (BRD, FRD, RTM, User Stories)
- Proficient in creating workflows, system diagrams, and process flows
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence and Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience in Credit Risk transformation programs in major banks
- Exposure to Python or data engineering concepts is an added advantage
- Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
