About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop and maintain automated test suites for Cloud applications and services
  • Develop end-to-end, integration, functional and regression automated tests
  • Automate Web application and UI tests using Playwright, Selenium or Cypress
  • Develop automated tests for REST APIs and web services
  • Define test strategies for new backend services and features in collaboration with developers
  • Design reusable frameworks, libraries, utilities and automated test data
  • Integrate and run automated tests in CI/CD pipelines
  • Analyze test failures, identify root causes and collaborate on issue resolution
  • Improve the reliability and speed of automated tests
  • Validate behavior and integration of distributed Cloud services
  • Use Kubernetes and containerized environments to configure, run and debug tests
  • Develop an understanding of the AWS infrastructure that supports the SaaS solution
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
  • Take part in SAFe Agile activities: planning, backlog refinement, reviews and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, Product Owners and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the quality, reliability and scalability of EXFO’s Cloud solutions, a company that develops intelligent test, monitoring and analytics solutions for networks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development or test automation
  • Significant experience developing automated tests
  • Strong experience with test automation frameworks and tools
  • Experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or a similar tool
  • Solid experience testing REST APIs and web services using Postman, REST-assured or equivalent technologies
  • Programming experience in multiple modern languages, including exposure to Python, Go and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience integrating and running automated tests within CI/CD pipelines
  • Good knowledge of Git and modern software development practices
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications
  • Experience with a public Cloud platform, ideally AWS
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in multi-component systems
  • Good understanding of version control, code reviews, automated testing and continuous integration
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an Agile development team
  • English proficiency is required for frequent verbal and written communication with clients, partners, vendors or colleagues outside Quebec
  • Assets: experience with cloud-native or distributed systems, AWS services (notably Amazon S3 and IAM), Python or Go, Docker, GitLab/GitLab CI/CD, performance/reliability/scalability testing, SAFe Agile and observability
