About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain Python scripts, applications, and automation tools
  • Design and improve automated workflows that reduce manual engineering and operational tasks
  • Build internal tools and utilities for provisioning, configuration, monitoring, testing, and system management
  • Work with APIs, structured data, and existing software systems to integrate and automate processes
  • Assist with software supporting Exegy's high-performance technology platforms
  • Troubleshoot software issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and technical problem solving
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established software development practices
  • Develop unit tests and participate in code reviews
  • Maintain technical documentation for applications, automation scripts, workflows, and engineering processes
  • Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and other technical teams to translate requirements into software solutions
  • Research and evaluate technologies, tools, and approaches to improve automation and engineering efficiency
  • Participate in team meetings, technical discussions, and the broader software development lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Nearing the end of a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (S3 or equivalent)
  • Experience programming in Python through coursework, personal projects, internships, or previous work experience
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals, including data structures, object-oriented programming, testing, and debugging
  • Familiarity with Git or another source-control system
  • Interest in software automation, internal tooling, DevOps, systems engineering, or infrastructure technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work collaboratively in a technical team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English
  • French proficiency required
  • Exposure to Linux, REST APIs, CI/CD, cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, or financial technology is beneficial but not required
