About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Builds solid relationships with partners and within organization.
  • Understands company services to identify and assess qualified business opportunities.
  • Sources, reviews, and responds to grant and other funding opportunities.
  • Research new funding sources at local, state, and federal levels as well as with corporate and private foundations.
  • Identify, compile, describe, organize, analyze, and present data and information for business projects and grant proposals.
  • Analyze RFP opportunities, summarize key findings, and facilitate team-based discussion with senior staff in making decisions about whether to pursue funding opportunities and coordinate response, if applicable.
  • Attend bidder’s conferences and technical assistance workshops as necessary.
  • Tracks and reports funding opportunities.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, English, health science, public administration, business, communications, public health or related field.
  • Demonstrated success in obtaining grant driven funding and proven ability to research grant prospects for proposal writing.
  • 2 years of grant writing experience.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications and digital research tools including AI.
  • Ability to write clear, structured, articulate and persuasive proposals.
  • Strong editing skills.
  • Ability to work well independently under pressure and manage time effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, positive and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Upholds the principles of ethical conduct.
  • A basic knowledge of substance use disorders and their effects on individuals, families, and communities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of government organization and administration.
  • Intermediate knowledge of foundation and government funding streams and cycles.
