About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide vision and strategic direction for quality academic programs and lead development, promotion, and evaluation of strategic initiatives
  • Advance evidence-based nursing practices, research, scholarship, and nursing education initiatives with clinical partners
  • Ensure compliance with regional, state, and specialized accreditation standards
  • Guide accreditation activities, data collection, analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Assist faculty with development and ongoing evaluation and enhancement of nursing curricula
  • Build interprofessional practice relationships and alliances as part of an online regional strategy
  • Represent the School of Nursing to clinical partners, affiliates, academic conferences, professional meetings, and community activities
  • Develop collaborations with policy and political agencies, Boards of Nursing, and accrediting agencies
  • Support strategic planning, annual goals, budgetary processes, business-process improvements, project management, dashboards, and grant opportunities
  • Conduct research and produce academic articles, presentations, and projects
  • Serve on School of Nursing committees
  • Supervise Department Chairs and the state board team
  • Lead performance management, coaching, evaluations, professional development, workload equity, and faculty productivity monitoring
  • Lead annual and long-range goal setting, resource allocation, project timelines, cross-functional initiatives, and quality improvement
  • Foster communication, shared governance, collaboration, employee engagement, and a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, respect, and psychological safety
  • Report to the Dean and serve as a member of the School of Nursing leadership team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Earned doctorate, preferably in nursing, curriculum and instruction, assessment, program evaluation, institutional research, higher education administration, or related field, from a regionally accredited United States institution or equivalent nationally recognized foreign institution
  • Distinguished record of interprofessional collaboration
  • Knowledge and experience working with accrediting agencies, preferably nursing education accreditors
  • Experience leading degree programs through successful site visits
  • Experience leading, developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative strategic initiatives
  • Ability to evaluate business processes and provide innovative quality and efficiency solutions
  • Strong background in data analytics and comfort with ambiguity
  • Experience in grant writing and securing funding
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Experience conducting, presenting, and publishing research
  • Experience supervising and leading
  • Strong leadership experience coordinating work across administrative and academic departments, preferably within a university
  • Ability to work with diverse constituencies
  • Ability and willingness to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
