About the role
- Facilitate the identification and onboarding of data owners and stewards across diverse business domains.
- Develop and deliver training programs for data stewards; create user-friendly documentation and guides to drive catalog adoption.
- Define baseline metrics and tracking mechanisms for key DG KPIs (e.g., data quality, stewardship coverage, metadata completeness).
- Partner with business stakeholders, Data Engineering, Architecture, and BI teams to translate governance needs into catalog configurations.
- Recreate business glossaries, domains, taxonomies, and Critical Data Elements (CDEs) in collaboration with business SMEs.
- Document governance standards, migration procedures, and support UAT cycles through to sign-off.
- Coordinate mapping, cleanup, and preparation of metadata to ensure readiness for data onboarding.
Requirements
- 5–12 years of experience in Data Governance (Tech + Business Functional) roles.
- Prior experience in enterprise-scale data governance initiatives.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
- Relevant certifications such as DAMA CDMP or DCAM are preferred.
- Strong understanding of Data Governance frameworks and business processes.
- Hands-on experience with data governance tools such as Atlan, Collibra, Informatica DGC, or Alation.
- Ability to bridge the gap between technical configurations and business requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to engage with SMEs, data owners, and cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record in metadata management, catalog adoption, and KPI tracking.
- Strong documentation and training development skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to drive governance initiatives.
