About the role

  • Lead the design, development, and testing of software applications, creating expert design concepts and debugging
  • Collect and analyze data to develop robust IT solutions delivering advanced data analytics capabilities
  • Develop database architectures to ensure system scalability, security, performance, and reliability
  • Design and document database applications, interfaces, data transfer mechanisms, and data partitions
  • Apply knowledge of practices for complex programs and initiatives; demonstrate creativity and specialized techniques
  • Troubleshoot medium complexity issues for major software applications; break down tasks, make decisions, investigate and fix bugs
  • Initiate independent designs that impact department delivery; review design alternatives and solutions
  • Consistently influence project decisions and select methods based on business strategy and best practices
  • Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to junior team members
  • Build internal and external partnerships with peers, SMEs, stakeholders, and decision-makers
  • Communicate clear and concise project plans/designs and status updates
  • Uphold company mission and values and support Quality Management System policies and procedures
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and act with an inclusion mindset

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or closely related quantitative discipline and four (4) years of work experience in the field
  • OR four (4) years of experience in the field of data/software engineering, data analytics, or data science
  • Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable
  • Spark on Snowflake or Databricks
  • Python or Scala, and SQL development
  • ETL data pipelines
  • Designing and implementing data modeling solutions using relational, dimensional, or NoSQL databases
  • Database architecture testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools
  • Big Data file formats (Parquet, Avro, or Delta Lake)
  • Cloud Infrastructure services (i.e., AWS, SQS, S3, GitLab or Azure)
  • Agile development tools including, but not limited to, JIRA, Confluence repository
  • RestAPI development
  • Tableau, PowerBI, SSRS, Excel or other reporting tools, including performance optimization
  • M-F, 9 am to 5 pm availability with on-call availability at night and/or weekends
