About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a primary HR contact for employees and managers regarding policies, procedures, programs, and general questions
  • Support employee relations matters, including documentation, performance concerns, attendance issues, policy interpretation, and workplace concerns
  • Assist with investigations, corrective action documentation, and follow-up
  • Manage and track Leaves of Absence, including FMLA and other applicable leaves
  • Coordinate leave processes from employee request through return to work
  • Support the ADA accommodation interactive process and maintain confidential records
  • Partner with payroll, benefits providers, managers, and stakeholders on leave and accommodation matters
  • Maintain LOA and ADA trackers and follow up on deadlines, certifications, extensions, return-to-work dates, and documentation
  • Own HR trackers for employee relations, LOA, ADA accommodations, onboarding/offboarding, compliance, and other people processes
  • Audit trackers and HR records for completeness, accuracy, currency, and consistency
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc HR reports, summaries, and status updates for HR leadership
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and reporting
  • Support onboarding, employee changes, offboarding, and employee lifecycle record maintenance
  • Support employment-law and company-policy compliance, audits, postings, record retention, and policy acknowledgments
  • Update HR policies, procedures, templates, and employee communications
  • Participate in HR projects and process-improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered
  • 3+ years of HR Generalist or comparable HR experience
  • Hands-on experience managing Leaves of Absence, including FMLA and applicable state leave requirements
  • Working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and experience supporting the accommodation interactive process
  • Experience maintaining HR trackers, monitoring deadlines, following up on action items, auditing data, and reporting status
  • Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and HR documentation
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements
  • Experience with HRIS and/or case management systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and related business applications
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accurate documentation and recordkeeping
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion and sound judgment
  • Ability to work independently and escalate complex or higher-risk matters appropriately
  • SHRM-CP or similar HR certification
  • Experience supporting a multi-location, retail, hospitality, beauty, wellness, or other service-oriented organization
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills, including HR dashboards or tracking tools
  • Experience identifying and implementing HR process improvements
