About the role

  • Own the end-to-end email marketing strategy, from acquisition and onboarding through engagement, retention, and reactivation
  • Design and implement comprehensive testing frameworks (A/B and multivariate) to continuously optimize subject lines, creative, copy, send times, segmentation, and personalization strategies
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics and translate insights into actionable recommendations that drive KPI improvements
  • Develop and maintain email best practices, style guides, and optimization playbooks
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand subscriber preferences, behaviors, and pain points
  • Build detailed customer personas and segmentation strategies based on behavioral data, purchase history, and engagement patterns
  • Partner with analytics teams to develop sophisticated attribution models and measure email's impact across the customer journey
  • Drive commerce goals through promotional campaigns, abandoned cart programs, product recommendations, and upsell/cross-sell initiatives
  • Build and optimize lead generation programs that move prospects through the funnel
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop nurture programs that support pipeline goals
  • Own email revenue targets and regularly report on performance against goals
  • Design lifecycle marketing programs that maximize customer lifetime value
  • Develop re-engagement and win-back campaigns to reduce churn
  • Create triggered and automated email flows that deliver timely, relevant content
  • Monitor deliverability, list health, and engagement metrics to maintain strong inbox placement

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of email marketing experience with demonstrated success driving measurable business results
  • Deep expertise in email marketing platforms
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data visualization tools and building performance dashboards
  • Proven track record of testing and optimization that has meaningfully improved conversion rates and revenue
  • Experience conducting user research and translating insights into effective marketing strategies
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Strong copywriting and creative briefing abilities
