About the role
- Utilize instructional design guidelines to craft positive learning experiences considering structure, accessibility, engagement, interactivity and continuity
- Own and execute needs assessments, document findings and communicate to relevant stakeholders
- Conduct instructional and educational research and communicate findings to internal teams
- Support in the creation and organization of instructional materials including scope and sequences and design matrices
- Design and develop quality educational experiences, considering structure, accessibility, engagement, interactivity, and continuity.
- Design assessments to adequately and accurately measure student outcomes and learning objectives
- Evaluate content to ensure it meets quality standards (including accuracy and appropriateness) and company goals, with support
- Work collaboratively with Product leaders, academic content authors, creative services, editors, AI, and technology teams through the instructional design process
- Develop resources that incorporate evidence-based practices, promote student engagement, and address diverse learning styles and needs
- Stay abreast of the latest trends, research, advancements, and legislation in education and implement as needed according to customer needs and education policies/standards
- Support in marketing, sales and customer success inquiries and requests
- Participate in focus groups, design committees and/or advisory board meetings with the instructional design lens
- Participate and/or lead training sessions and professional development
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in designing high-quality academic or instructional content for special education aligned to defined learning outcomes, standards, or competency frameworks
- Strong understanding of pedagogy and curriculum design, including the ability to translate learning objectives into structured, engaging instructional experiences
- Demonstrated knowledge of state standards, including extended or alternate standards for students with the most complex learning needs
- Highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace
