About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the regional Project Controls Planning & Scheduling Team supporting Transmission, Distribution, Grid Modernization, and Telecommunications capital projects
- Direct development of baseline schedules and controls from project authorization through close-out
- Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, safely, within performance targets, and with minimized risk and exposure
- Track and report monthly project performance against baseline schedule milestones
- Analyze schedule network logic, critical paths, schedule risks, forecasts, variances, trends, and engineering performance
- Streamline and oversee Primavera scheduling processes across Transmission and Engineering organizations
- Produce project schedules, specialized cost reports, metrics, dashboards, performance tools, and analyses
- Develop and maintain accurate project schedules with Transmission and Engineering leaders and key stakeholders
- Coordinate Primavera schedules supporting external engineering, material purchasing, and construction services
- Monitor and report external engineering and construction vendor schedule performance
- Ensure schedules are approved by stakeholders before baselines are set and properly coded
- Participate in change control and validate revised project baselines
- Plan, assign, review, and check the quality of team members’ work
- Build, coach, evaluate, train, and develop the Planning & Scheduling Team
- Oversee Engineer of Choice and Contractor of Choice vendor resource pool schedule and cost reporting expectations
- Partner across Project Management, Engineering, Project Controls, business units, Operations, Procurement, Legal, and other groups
- Process vendor schedule submissions and support analysis of contract change requests, disputes, and claims
- Monitor, close out, and archive schedules
- Ensure compliance with corporate procedures and regulatory requirements, conduct self-audits, and develop corrective action plans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent degree or experience desired
- Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience supervising and/or leading dynamic and cross functional teams supporting project execution, process improvements and group facilitation
- Understanding of project management theories and methodologies
- Knowledge of scheduling modeling, risk management, and project information systems
- Ability to monitor and analyze cost and scheduling information, provide forecasts, oversee performance tools, make recommendations, and communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience using and managing Maximo, P6, Ariba, eBuilder, Power BI, and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to influence group culture
- Oracle Primavera P6 advanced user, administrator, and trainer experience preferred
- Experience in Electrical Transmission and Distribution planning and scheduling preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) desirable
- Oracle Primavera P6 certification desirable
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
