About the role
- Lead Engineer responsible for development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system and its equipment to meet the mission and objectives of the organization
- Coordinates evaluation of system failures, resolutions for unplanned maintenance
- Ensures Eversource transmission and distribution systems are designed to high quality standards
- Shares accountability with peers in the Life Cycle Plan development
- Supervises, assigns, directs work of other Engineers and staff
- Analyzes reliability, system events and equipment condition
- Develops, justifies and approves Life Cycle Plan activities over multi-year horizon
- Ensures design and specification of additions/modifications and replacements are completed accurately and on time
- Reviews preliminary engineering designs and details as necessary
- Collaborates with other Engineers to ensure project success
- Provides technical support during normal and emergency situations
- Accountable for root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Evaluates and selects technology and equipment
- Input for development of standards and procedures for design, operation and maintenance
Requirements
- BS Engineering or BS Engineering Technology
- Minimum of 8 years in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention-to-detail
- Working knowledge of standard office computer software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Availability for emergency restoration assignment
- Willingness to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
