About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain the system models for transmission studies including collection, review and/or modification of a variety of electric system parameters
- Conducts adequacy assessments and develops options to meet delivery objectives
- Identifies key technical issues and develops solutions
- Represents the department and the company on various industry related committees
- Collaborates in the implementation and management of the life cycle plan for transmission assets
- Communicates clearly and effectively verbally and in writing the results of analyses and action plan
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical preferred
- Advanced degree preferred
- 3 - 5 years of directly related experience
- Experience with power system transmission analysis tools such as PSSE, TARA, ASPEN, PSCAD, or other similar analysis software
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python
- Knowledge of new technologies including but not limited to photovoltaic solar, electric vehicles, and battery
- Knowledge of electrical theory as applied to planning an electric power supply system
- Knowledge of National, State and other planning standards and reliability criteria
