About the role
- Responsible for the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system and its equipment to provide reliable service to customers.
- Supervises, coaches, and develops engineers; approves time and conducts performance reviews.
- Assigns, prioritizes and directs work performed by at least 2 FTE Engineers or 1 FTE Engineer and 1 FTE Designer.
- Develops, justification and approval of the Life Cycle Plan activities and projects over a multi-year horizon and for ongoing projects.
- Ensures that the design and specification of additions, modifications and replacements to the transmission and distribution systems, are completed accurately and on time.
- Provides technical support and direction to operating areas relative to system priorities, engineering guidelines and operating decisions during normal and emergency situations.
- Accountable for root-cause analysis, development and implementation of corrective actions.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of utility power systems is strongly preferred.
- Ability to independently develop, present and execute new projects through collaborations with other departments.
- Familiarity with power related load flow and application software is preferred.
- Must have or develop a thorough knowledge of Company organization, distribution standards, policies, practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in office computer software such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Working knowledge of data analytics and AI related tools is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
