About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system and its equipment to provide reliable service to customers.
Supervises, coaches, and develops engineers; approves time and conducts performance reviews.
Assigns, prioritizes and directs work performed by at least 2 FTE Engineers or 1 FTE Engineer and 1 FTE Designer.
Develops, justification and approval of the Life Cycle Plan activities and projects over a multi-year horizon and for ongoing projects.
Ensures that the design and specification of additions, modifications and replacements to the transmission and distribution systems, are completed accurately and on time.
Provides technical support and direction to operating areas relative to system priorities, engineering guidelines and operating decisions during normal and emergency situations.
Accountable for root-cause analysis, development and implementation of corrective actions.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of utility power systems is strongly preferred.
Ability to independently develop, present and execute new projects through collaborations with other departments.
Familiarity with power related load flow and application software is preferred.
Must have or develop a thorough knowledge of Company organization, distribution standards, policies, practices and procedures.
Proficiency in office computer software such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
Working knowledge of data analytics and AI related tools is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
