About the role
- Assist experienced engineers with the planning, execution, and analysis of various field tests on electrical equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, and other substation apparatus.
- Support data collection and analysis using specialized testing equipment and software.
- Participate in the calibration and maintenance of testing instruments.
- Document test procedures, results, and observations accurately and thoroughly.
- Contribute to the identification and troubleshooting of electrical system issues.
- Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and company standards in a field environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project completion.
- Attend departmental meetings and presentations to gain a broader understanding of Eversource operations.
- Prepare and present a summary of internship experiences and projects at the end of the program.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, and electrical safety principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and comply with all safety regulations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Prior experience with electrical testing equipment or field work is a plus, but not required.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2027 or later.
