About the role
- End to End responsibility for Eversource’s cloud platform.
- Integrate any updated specifications and requirements into the systems architecture.
- Research and recommend new Cloud technologies, platforms, and tools to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database architecture, design, and configurations; establish and enforce database standards and best practices.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to develop strategic plans with cross-functional teams to implement and assist operations.
- Drive strategic conversations around cloud migration strategies.
- Providing architectural recommendations to other teams on how to effectively use the cloud to drive down costs year to year.
- Planning, estimating and sizing cloud platform enhancements.
- Build and maintain internal customer relationships to grow the cloud platform champion network.
- Engage partners across the organization, both technical and non-technical, ensuring platform continues to meet everyone’s needs, while documenting core requirements.
- Lead and motivate dynamic team made up of cross functional skill set while providing focus to team in an agile environment.
- Develop future state roadmaps, drive consensus, proof of concepts and demonstrate viable paths to modernize applications in a multi-cloud environment hosted on Azure.
- Create and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates leveraging tools such as (Terraform, Ansible, Git, Azure DevOpsor Kubernetes) with an “Automation First” DevOps mindset.
- Partner with product and project teams to work as cloud subject matter expert, helping guide them to the most effective solution.
- Champions a structured approach to business application solutions from a selection, implementation and development perspective.
- Champions cloud development best practices.
- Directly assists in the development of a cloud architecture program including roadmaps and project portfolios for Eversource’s cloud platform.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar technical discipline is required.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in designing, developing, configuring, and implementing enterprise infrastructure solutions with various solutions from multiple vendors on a large enterprise scale.
- Minimum 8-10 years recent exposure to Microsoft Azure.
- Working knowledge of Containers, DevOps Pipelines, Modernizing Legacy software, PaaS and IaaS.
- Microsoft Azure Certification specific to the role (Infrastructure, Solutions, Applications, Database, etc.).
