About the role

  • P&C Engineer responsible for design and operation of protection and control systems for safe, reliable transmission and distribution operation
  • Analyze protection system operations and provide support to operations on unplanned maintenance
  • Review and evaluate proposed changes to existing electric facilities for compatibility with Eversource protection system standards
  • Create new Protection and Control system designs in accordance with Eversource Standards
  • Specify materials associated with new or modified Protection and Control systems
  • Develop, calculate, and document settings and logic for protective relays, logic processors, feeder reclosers, and switches
  • Perform coordination studies by modeling and analyzing electric system elements and their protection systems using fault simulation software
  • Analyze protection system operations during system disturbances in support of Substation Technical Group Event analysis
  • Interface with Planning, Operations and Field personnel to support planning, operation and maintenance of the system
  • Manage and perform work activities with training, guidance and oversight from senior staff and management
  • Actively support storm and/or emergency restoration assignments
  • This is considered an entry level position

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Individuals with a focus in electric power systems engineering are preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment; Eversource will not sponsor candidates for work visas for this position
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
  • Must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed
