About the role
- Design and develop dashboard visualizations that clearly and concisely communicate key business metrics.
- Write complex SQL queries and stored procedures to retrieve, transform, and analyze data for dashboards and reports.
- Investigate and analyze data patterns and trends, providing insights and recommending actionable business decisions.
- Prepare, cleanse, and validate datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of reporting outputs.
- Diagnose and resolve technical data issues, managing assigned project issues through resolution.
- Develop data apps that allow users to explore and export data easily, enabling more informed decision-making.
- Write scripts to manipulate data and support automated reporting and dashboard solutions.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and clarify business rules.
- Act as a liaison between data engineers and business users, providing guidance on data needs and required changes to datasets.
- Present dashboards, reports, and insights to management and business leaders.
- Research industry best practices and recommend continuous improvements to BI processes and solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5–8 years of experience working with data visualization tools, with a strong emphasis on executive-level reporting.
- Proven experience supporting complex BI initiatives in cross-functional environments.
- Tableau is the preferred tool; Power BI is an acceptable equivalent.
- Experience with Databricks or an equivalent data intelligence platform is required.
- Experience with Plotly Dash is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform, including: Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate
- Experience with Microsoft DevOps.
- Strong experience developing, testing, and maintaining code.
- Proficiency with Excel and MS Office.
- Experience with Tableau.
- Working knowledge of Python and project scripting languages.
- Experience working with large datasets to support predictive analytics, machine learning, and advanced statistical analysis.
- UI/UX sensibility for building clean, readable, and visually compelling dashboards.
- Strong data storytelling capabilities.
