- About the Role: As a Data Governance Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring your organization adheres to data governance policies and standards.
- Key Responsibilities: Monitor and ensure compliance with data governance policies, standards, and procedures when adding new data elements, columns, tables, reports, and master data.
- Perform data stewardship tasks, including documenting and maintaining the business glossary.
- Maintain documentation for data governance activities, such as the glossary of business terms, data dictionary, process documentation, and data lineage.
- Review and validate reports for accuracy, completeness, and reliability, ensuring proper documentation, lineage tracking, and owner involvement.
- Use workflows to manage the certification process of reports, working closely with report owners to ensure compliance.
- Track and analyze data quality incidents, coordinating with data stewards and data owners to resolve issues effectively.
- Monitor and present data quality metrics and KPIs to senior leadership.
- Oversee the creation, updating, and ongoing management of master data sets, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to business users and data stewards on the appropriate use and selection of master data sets.
- Conduct periodic reviews and validations of master data to maintain accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
Requirements
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
- You bring at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- You’re proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with SQL queries and data management tools is preferred.
- Previous experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
