About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage, mentor, and develop a team of BI engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring professional growth and skill development.
Develop and implement the BI strategy, aligning with the organization’s business objectives and driving improvements in data analysis and reporting capabilities.
Oversee the delivery of BI projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of BI solutions, including data warehouses, data models, and ETL tools.
Work closely with data engineering, data product managers, and other stakeholders across departments to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable BI solutions.
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data within BI systems, implementing best practices and industry standards.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance BI capabilities.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
6+ years of experience in BI engineering or related roles, with 2+ years in a managerial or team lead position.
Strong proficiency in SQL, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling; preferred to have familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
Proven track record in managing and mentoring a team, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
Experience in managing projects using methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
