Manage fixed and intangible asset lifecycles overseeing additions, disposals, impairments, and depreciation/amortization using NetSuite’s Fixed Asset Module (FAM).
Provide accounting guidance on fixed and intangible asset policies and the distinction between capital and expense items under managerial supervision.
Act as a liaison with project managers, operational teams, FP&A and tax to ensure accurate and timely processing of capital assets.
Maintain the prepaid expenses subledger and related balance sheet accounts.
Analyze monthly financial statements and variances against prior periods providing concise explanations to support findings.
Prepare work papers and month-end reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts and select income statement accounts to support amounts reported in the financial statements and general ledger.
Prepare various fixed assets and intangibles schedules to support SEC filings.
Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls over assigned GL areas and collaborate with the internal audit team to address any identified deficiencies.
Ensure compliance with all SOX and IPE requirements.
May be involved in the implementation or upgrades of fixed asset software and serve as a subject matter expert.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to refine and streamline the month-end close and general ledger processes.
Requirements
3+ years of accounting experience in a similar field.
Experience as a Senior Accountant with fixed asset accounting knowledge preferred.
Experience in NetSuite’s Fixed Asset Module (FAM).
BS/BA degree in accounting required.
Strong understanding of month-end and year-end close processes of a public company.
Working knowledge of US GAAP standards and understanding internal controls.
Strong diligence, well-organized and have solid interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to solve issues and work independently.
Strong accountability for assigned work.
Proficient excel skills will be critical for the success of this role.
Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
