About the role
- Owning compliance with worldwide laws applicable to AI, e-commerce platforms
- Contracts and assessments required under data protection law, including the GDPR (DPAs, TIAs, etc.)
- Preparing, maintaining required compliance documentation
- Internal documentation under data protection, AI Governance, consumer rights, and similar laws
- EverAI’s AI systems inventory (in line with EU guidance)
- Risk assessments under applicable safety laws
- Product & feature reviews for consumer rights and data protection compliance
- Day-to-day compliance tasks: standard IP issues, contract reviews, and legal terms updates
- Tracking, researching and analyzing relevant legal developments
- Guidance from regular check-ins with Ethics & Compliance Officer
Requirements
- Legal education (e.g., Masters of Law, Juris Doctor, recognized legal certification)
- 2-6 years of experience as legal counsel or similar positions: at least 2 years in contracts and data protection law
- Ability to distill complex legal concepts into plain English
- Interest in AI
- Strong communication & collaborative skills (perfectly fluent in English)
- Goal-oriented, ownership and commitment
- Doer mindset - balance execution, planning, and strategy
- Humble - willing to learn, open to feedback
- Comfortable reviewing and discussing uncensored AI-generated content and NSFW material
- Full certification as an attorney / legal counsel (bonus)
- Previous experience in AI compliance (bonus)
- Fluency in additional languages (bonus)
