About the role
- Owning compliance with worldwide laws applicable to AI, e-commerce platforms
- Contracts and assessments required under data protection law, including the GDPR (DPAs, TIAs, etc.)
- Preparing, maintaining required compliance documentation
- Risk assessments under applicable safety laws
- Product & feature reviews (e.g., for consumer rights, data protection compliance)
- Owning day-to-day compliance tasks
- Tracking, researching and analyzing relevant legal developments
Requirements
- Legal education (e.g., Masters of Law, Juris Doctor, recognized legal certification)
- 2-6 years of experience as legal counsel or similar positions
- At least 2 years of your experience must be working with contracts, generally, and data protection law, specifically. For example: You should know what a Data Protection Agreement and Transfer Impact Assessment are, and have some experience preparing them; You should have experience contacting vendors about contract-related issues.
- Ability to distill complex legal concepts into plain English
- Interest in AI
