About the role
- Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax, franchise tax, and property tax returns, including extensions and quarterly payments.
- Compile and review tax provision schedules, consolidating data for reporting purposes.
- Research federal, state, and local tax regulations and recommend strategies to optimize compliance and efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes and ensure implementation across processes.
- Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies as needed.
- Streamline tax procedures and develop supporting documentation to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in continuing education, professional organizations, and industry networking to stay current with tax developments.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with accounting tasks related to your segment of the business.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in tax or accounting.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Must be familiar with corporate tax returns.
- Working toward industry certification (CPA, CMA) preferred.
- Candidates with NetSuite experience will be given priority consideration.
- Tax accounting experience in a high-growth technology company is a plus.
