About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Technical Evolution: Mentor and upskill the QA specialist team, transitioning from a, primarily, manual workflow practice to a standardized QA model including automated regression testing and technical documentation.
  • Act as the "Gatekeeper": Collaborate directly with Engineering, Product, and Design to ensure every release meets a high standard for quality and stability.
  • Implement Hybrid Testing: Maintain high-quality manual testing while building out automated frameworks to reduce overhead.
  • Manage the Bug Lifecycle: Triage issues based on customer impact and business goals, ensuring the Engineering team is focused on the most critical friction points.
  • Scale the Culture: Foster a culture of "Quality-First" within the broader team, ensuring that speed of growth never comes at the expense of our customers' trust.
  • Product Expertise: Become an absolute expert on the Eventeny product to anticipate how new features might break existing workflows for a 5,000+ person festival or convention.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in Software Quality Assurance, with at least 1–2 years in a Lead or Manager role—ideally within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience taking non-technical team members and coaching them on technical QA practices (SQL basics, API testing, browser dev tools).
  • Experience in building automation frameworks that “play nice” within the existing code-base.
  • You thrive in a high-velocity environment where growth experiments are constant and the ability to pivot quickly is a core requirement for success.
  • Strong experience with API testing and querying databases.
  • You should be comfortable reading (or even writing) code and participating in PR reviews.
  • You understand that a "bug" isn't just a technical error; it’s a failure for a festival organizer on their biggest day of the year.
