About the role
- Lead the TCR Engineering team to manage engineering design and operational support of global TCR ground resources for Eutelsat Group’s GEO and LEO satellite fleets
- Lead team delivery of engineering designs to maintain highest operational availability
- Monitor and resolve operational issues related to TCR ground equipment and supervision/control systems as part of escalation framework
- Perform technical specification, validation and operational implementation of new ground segment TCR equipment and software applications
- Manage service operations for a global network of TCR earth station sites and act as technical interface with contractors and technology partners
- Coordinate engineering support activities of the TCR field support team at worldwide sites
- Define functional and operational upgrades, analyze alternatives, prepare technical specifications, and monitor development programs
- Select new TCR station baseband equipment and remote management software versions and supervise installation and technical acceptance
- Coordinate TCR network maintenance activities from external suppliers and write TCR network operating procedures
- Organize and supervise operational support by site personnel, including oversight of preventive and corrective maintenance
- Evaluate equipment performance trends and reliability against SLA targets
- Coordinate with Quality and Safety managers regarding definition, monitoring, and control of processes
- Provide TCR Ground Operations on-call escalated support as required (approx. 1 week out of 4)
Requirements
- Strong experience in engineering, maintenance and 24/7 operation of TCR ground systems for satellite control
- Proven experience in engineering team leadership
- Experience in satellite command and control baseband equipment, signal processing and remote control
- Availability and flexibility for operational needs, including occasional multi-day travel to TCR Ground Earth Station sites worldwide and equipment vendor facilities
- Willingness to perform on-call escalated support (approximately 1 week out of 4)
- Experience managing service operations for global networks and interfacing with contractors and technology partners
- Experience in technical specification, validation and operational implementation of ground segment equipment and software
- Experience supervising installations, technical acceptance, and coordinating maintenance from external suppliers
- Experience coordinating engineering support activities of field support teams and writing network operating procedures
- Experience evaluating equipment performance trends and monitoring SLAs
- Ability to coordinate with Quality and Safety managers and control related processes
- Line management experience for distributed/global teams
- Budget forecasting and financial oversight experience
