About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the correct and timely administration of salaries to optimally meet management’s administrative requirements and in accordance with employment contracts and social legislation;
- Carry out all required actions to ensure accurate, rigorous, and timely calculation of employee and director remuneration:
- Enter payroll data in our payroll management system;
- Ensure correct application of legal provisions (overtime, shift allowances, on-call duty, working time, transport expenses, etc.);
- Process changes received during the month: hires/terminations, career changes, changes in working time, address changes, dependents, sick leave, company car fringe benefit (ATN), etc.;
- Ensure statutory declarations and periodic payroll reporting (DIMONA, DMFA, DRS, certificates and social documents) and ensure compliance with the employer’s legal obligations;
- Advise and support employees on questions related to their pay, administrative file and employee benefits (insurances, special leave, career break/temporary career leave, pension, sick leave, various certificates, etc.);
- Regularly audit data and administrative files to guarantee the reliability of payroll and statutory declarations;
- Maintain all necessary contacts in the context of daily operations with service providers, suppliers or external authorities to ensure effective collaboration (social secretariats, etc.);
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Payroll and HR processes, notably by optimizing tools and IT applications;
- Keep up to date with social legislation, payroll taxation and internal procedures to ensure compliant, high-quality service.
- Assist the HR Administration Manager in implementing and delivering projects related to compensation, salary systems, payroll and fringe benefits to contribute to the department’s objectives;
- Monitor the rollout of the Compensation & Benefits strategy in collaboration with the HR Administration Manager;
- Provide support for remuneration programs and salary systems;
- Assist the HR administration team in HR internal communications related to payroll and the administration of individual employee files.
- Provide accounting with cost-center breakdowns for all payroll-related invoices and other items;
- Establish an internal control (audit) plan to ensure payroll processes and calculations comply with Belgian social legislation and the company’s internal policies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 to 8 years of experience in payroll management (Payroll)
- Excellent command of French and intermediate level of English (knowledge of Dutch is an asset)
- Good knowledge of Belgian social legislation and proven experience in operational payroll processing
- Strong interest in international compensation and mobility matters
- Experience with or involvement in HR projects related to HRIS, Time & Attendance, ERP systems or collaboration with a social secretariat
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving approach
- Continuous improvement mindset and service orientation
