Key responsibilities & impact

Leading daily terminal operations in Amsterdam and Rotterdam for UK‑bound services
Acting as the senior operational decision‑maker on site during duty periods
Ensuring passenger and staff safety, service quality and operational readiness
Functionally managing and coordinating contracted service providers
Monitoring performance against SLAs and escalating risks or non‑performance
Coordinating operational interfaces with NS and other external partners
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives based on operational data, incidents and feedback

Requirements

What you’ll need

Significant experience in **railway, transport or station operations**, ideally in a complex, customer‑facing environment
Proven ability to operate as a **senior on‑site decision‑maker** in normal and disrupted situations
Strong **functional leadership skills**, with the ability to influence and coordinate teams without hierarchical authority
Experience working with **contracted service providers** and performance management frameworks
Solid understanding of **safety management systems**, security and risk management
Excellent communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders
Fluent in **English and Dutch**
Willingness to work primarily from Amsterdam and Rotterdam terminals, with operational flexibility
