About the role
- Own the product roadmap, backlog, and delivery for the Kiosk and Cashiering web-based point-of-sale systems.
- Lead the EMV migration initiative end-to-end — from requirements definition and processor coordination to hardware validation, rollout planning, and client communication.
- Define and maintain PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria in close partnership with engineering and QA.
- Serve as a payments domain expert across the business unit — maintaining deep knowledge of payment processing, card brand rules (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex), and applicable compliance requirements.
- Own the product layer for payment processor integrations.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to expand or improve payment method support (e.g., contactless, stored value, ACH) across Kiosk, Cashiering, and Online Payments.
- Partner with other PMs to ensure payment flows are consistent and well-integrated across in-person and digital channels.
- Conduct Voice of Customer research with city and county clients to surface in-person payment friction, unmet needs, and roadmap opportunities.
- Support sales and implementation with RFP responses, Statements of Work, and technical scoping for Kiosk and Cashiering opportunities.
- Represent the product in client-facing conversations, including discovery sessions, demos, and escalations.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in payments.
- Working knowledge of payment processing concepts — transaction flows, card brand rules, interchange, EMV/chip, tokenization, and PCI-DSS scope.
- Demonstrated ability to write high-quality Business Cases, PRDs and User Stories for technically complex features.
- Experience managing external integrations with payment processors or third-party technology vendors.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity across engineering, operations, and client-facing teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical complexity into clear stakeholder narratives.
- Experience with kiosk, POS, or self-service hardware products. (Preferred)
- Familiarity with Fiserv CardConnect, Chase Paymentech, or Card Present integration toolkits. (Preferred)
- Public sector or government technology experience. (Preferred)
- Exposure to EMV certification or terminal integration processes. (Preferred)
- Experience working within Jira, Aha!, or similar product management tooling. (Preferred)
