About the role
- Architect, deploy, and manage AWS EC2 infrastructure hosting enterprise public budgeting software, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance
- Own day-to-day operations of Windows Server and Linux environments running ASPX/VB.NET applications backed by Microsoft SQL Server
- Manage DNS, routing, and network configurations across Route 53 and Cloudflare, including load balancing, failover, and traffic management
- Lead cloud security posture management using Wiz, proactively identifying and remediating vulnerabilities and misconfigurations
- Administer and maintain AWS Patch Manager to ensure consistent, timely patching across all managed instances
- Support and maintain SAP Business Objects environments integrated with the budgeting platform
- Initially focus on migration of production assets from the existing AWS environment to a new modernized account
- Collaborate with development and product teams to review architecture decisions and recommend infrastructure improvements
- Drive cloud cost optimization efforts and capacity planning
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code, runbooks, and technical documentation
- Champion the adoption of AI tools — including Anthropic Claude and Microsoft Copilot — to enhance team productivity, automate routine tasks, and accelerate problem-solving
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for critical infrastructure issues
- Stay current with AWS services, security best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to public sector SaaS
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS infrastructure experience, with demonstrated expertise in EC2, VPC, IAM, Route 53, and related core services
- Deep experience supporting enterprise .NET applications (ASPX, VB.NET) with Microsoft SQL Server on Windows Server in a production environment
- Proficiency with Route 53 and Cloudflare for DNS management, CDN configuration, and network routing
- Hands-on experience with Wiz for cloud security and compliance posture management
- Experience using AWS Patch Manager (or AWS Systems Manager) for patching Windows and Linux fleets at scale
- Strong Linux and Windows Server administration skills
- Working knowledge of SAP Business Objects in an enterprise environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage priorities without heavy oversight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document infrastructure clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
- AWS certification(s): Solutions Architect – Professional or DevOps Engineer – Professional preferred
- Experience supporting SaaS products in regulated or public sector environments
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)
- Active enthusiasm for AI productivity tools, particularly Anthropic Claude and Microsoft Copilot, and a track record of finding creative ways to apply them in infrastructure and operations work
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
