Mechanical Engineer

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services upgrades within live data centre environments, including M&E upgrades, capacity increases, technology refreshes, phased refurbishments, and lifecycle replacements.
• Develop and manage retrofit-specific design strategies, including tie-ins to live systems, redundancy planning, outage and staging strategies, and resilience design.
• Conduct or oversee technical due diligence of existing data centre facilities, including capacity unlock assessments (power, cooling, and white space).
• Prepare and review detailed design drawings, schematics, schedules, technical reports, and tender documentation.
• Manage project scope, budget, programme, and contracts — identifying and mitigating scope creep, risks, and live-environment constraints.
• Liaise directly with clients (hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise operators), contractors, and vendors to ensure project goals are achieved with zero operational disruption.
• Drive quality assurance and governance across all assigned projects, adhering to WAP/PTW protocols in live environments.
• Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and graduate staff within the retrofit workstream.
• Support business development by contributing to proposals, client presentations, and technical strategies for retrofit opportunities across EMEA.
• Champion innovation in live-environment engineering and contribute to the continuous improvement of Ethos’ retrofit delivery model.
• Lead phasing strategy for live cooling and HVAC upgrades, ensuring continuity of critical mechanical infrastructure throughout delivery.

Electrical Engineer

• Lead the Electrical Services design for a range of projects
• Design and specification of electrical services for various types of buildings and sectors
• Produce detailed schematics
• Develop the electrical design standards within the organisation
• Mentor junior engineering staff
• Provide fully detailed tender packages and monitor installation/quality on site until project completion
• Tender report/analysis/recommendations
• Develop project scope with the design team/client
• Confidently use Microsoft Office, Autocad, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT
• Produce budgets and reports for clients
• Attend site visits
• Take lead on projects with minimal input from the management team

Senior Project Engineer – Electrical, U.K

Engineer

• Support the development and coordination of control engineering designs for new projects, including control strategies, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
• Contribute to design reviews, quality checks, process control, product evaluation, vendor proposal reviews and reliability assessments.
• Provide input into automated testing, software coordination, research and development activities where required.
• Support engineering and operational processes relating to large-scale data centre and mission-critical environments.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, vendors and consultants to support delivery of project elements and resolve technical queries.
• Review technical submissions, drawings and documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements and Ethos standards.
• Monitor project milestones, identify risks or dependencies early and support on-time delivery of assigned deliverables.
• Support design, construction, commissioning and handover activities for BMS/EPMS systems.
• Work across multiple projects simultaneously, both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
• Work closely with clients and subcontractors to provide technical support, guidance and clarification throughout the project lifecycle.
