About the role
- Lead all operational EHS matters, ensuring compliance with legislation and corporate standards.
- Promote a Zero Harm culture through visible leadership and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Develop and maintain EHS improvement plans, incorporating audit findings and risk priorities.
- Act as the main EHS contact for UK Safety Council meetings and external bodies (HSE, EA, insurers).
- Support operational management with legal compliance and audit readiness.
- Plan and implement internal and external audits, including management system and legal compliance.
- Monitor EHS data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage EHS budgets and contribute to performance plans and strategic projects.
- Lead EHS team meetings locally, nationally, and regionally to share best practices.
- Ensure high-quality incident investigations and timely completion of corrective actions.
- Communicate legislative changes and corporate standards, ensuring business alignment.
- Support environmental governance and sustainability initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and compliance.
- Proven experience in an EHS leadership role within manufacturing or industrial operations.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience managing audits, improvement plans, and EHS budgets.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaborative approach.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret EHS data and identify trends.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in environmental governance and sustainability initiatives.
- Willingness to attend regional and international meetings as required.
