About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead legal support for the full BESS project lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm, sophisticated in-house legal department, or government agency
  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active license in good standing (preferably in CA, NY, or TX)
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating offtake, power purchase, capacity, tolling, and other project revenue agreements
  • Strong working knowledge of permitting, environmental review, land use, siting, interconnection, real estate, procurement, trade, supply chain, and ISO/RTO market issues relevant to utility-scale BESS projects.
  • Proficiency with legal technology and contract management tools
  • Strategic and commercially minded with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and responsive with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
