About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages
- Assist with routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries
- Interpret and correlate test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge (MLS)
- Exhibit complex or highly complex problem-solving skills
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring
- Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation
- Process specimens and perform phlebotomy as needed
- Provide customer service
- Participate in research, development, education, and technical consultation (MLS)
Requirements
What you’ll need- MLT: Graduate of an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technician, or meet CLIA guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing through an alternative route
- MLS: Graduate of a four-year degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, or MLT (ASCP) certified with additional clinical laboratory semester-hour equivalents, 2 years of full-time lab experience, and MLS (ASCP) certification
- MLT certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification required within one year of hire
- MLS certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required within one year of hire
- Perform testing according to CLIA complexity requirements
- Availability for day rotation, occasional weekends, holidays, and call obligation
- Successful completion of post-offer screenings
- Verification of legal right to work in the United States
- Verification of applicable licensure, certifications, education, and experience
- Background checks, including criminal check, urine drug screen, and MVR where required
- Health screening and immunization review
