About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide comprehensive spiritual care to patients of all ages and their families
- Include individual patient/resident support related to spiritual matters and family support
- Provide support to patients and families facing grief and end of life issues
- Lead religious ceremonies of worship, rituals and other spiritual care programs as directed
- Document care and counseling provided
- Participate in meetings and educational programs
- Serve patients in outpatient, inpatient, and residential facilities depending on location
- Participate on committees and department improvement initiatives as directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Divinity, Ministry or a related field, or three years professional experience in related field
- Successful completion of ACPE accredited unit of CPE (Chaplain I)
- 2 ACPE accredited CPE units required for Chaplain II at the time of hire
- Completion of an additional 2 ACPE accredited unit required within 24 months of hire for Chaplain II
- Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Ministry or a related field for Chaplain Masters
- Successful completion of 3 ACPE accredited units of CPE and board certification required within 24 months for Chaplain Masters
- Certification with the NACC, APC or SCA required within 24 months of hire
