About the role
- Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment strategy for physicians and advanced practice providers aligned with workforce planning and growth goals
- Lead, mentor, and develop the provider recruitment team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive and clinical leadership on talent-related matters
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment operations ensuring efficiency, compliance, and best-in-class candidate experience
- Leverage data, analytics, and market intelligence to build dashboards and track KPIs (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, retention)
- Build and nurture proactive candidate pipelines; strengthen relationships with residency programs, fellowship directors, and professional associations
- Champion the candidate and provider experience; collaborate with HR, Credentialing, and Legal to streamline onboarding
- Represent Essentia Health at recruitment events and professional forums to enhance provider brand and network
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, Provider Compensation, Legal, and other departments to coordinate provider engagement and retention efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (required)
- Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) preferred
- Professional certification in HR or talent acquisition (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, AAPPR) is a plus
- Minimum of eight years of experience in healthcare, talent acquisition, or provider recruitment
- At least three to five years in a leadership role responsible for team management, resource allocation, and financial oversight
- Demonstrated success designing and executing recruitment strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Proven ability to leverage data, analytics, and market intelligence to drive decisions
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruitment processes (sourcing, interviewing, contracting, onboarding) in healthcare
- Solid understanding of employment law, credentialing, and provider workforce dynamics
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trusted partnerships with executive leaders and physicians
