About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide direct patient care in outpatient and nursing home facilities
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team at Essen
Assess patients referred by Primary Care Providers using evidence-based assessment tools
Treat behavioral health conditions using evidence-based approaches, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, crisis intervention, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and behavioral activation
Make treatment recommendations
Refer patients to a Psychiatrist as deemed appropriate
Monitor client treatment through clinical documentation review and coordination of care with other health providers and health homes
Provide crisis intervention services and risk assessments as needed
Engage clients with limited behavioral health service utilization through outreach efforts
Document services in a timely fashion

Requirements

What you’ll need

Doctoral Degree in clinical or counseling Psychiatrist (Ph.D./PsyD)
Current NYS registration as a Psychologist environment
Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus but not a requirement
Must be able to work 25+ hours a week
