About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct patient care in outpatient and nursing home facilities
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team at Essen
- Assess patients referred by Primary Care Providers using evidence-based assessment tools
- Treat behavioral health conditions using evidence-based approaches, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, crisis intervention, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and behavioral activation
- Make treatment recommendations
- Refer patients to a Psychiatrist as deemed appropriate
- Monitor client treatment through clinical documentation review and coordination of care with other health providers and health homes
- Provide crisis intervention services and risk assessments as needed
- Engage clients with limited behavioral health service utilization through outreach efforts
- Document services in a timely fashion
Requirements
What you’ll need- Doctoral Degree in clinical or counseling Psychiatrist (Ph.D./PsyD)
- Current NYS registration as a Psychologist environment
- Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus but not a requirement
- Must be able to work 25+ hours a week
