About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with product and software engineers to clarify acceptance criteria and translate them into maintainable manual and automated test coverage
- Perform risk-based testing of functionality, including validation of accessibility, internationalization/localization, security, and privacy requirements
- Perform structured exploratory and scenario-based testing across key user workflows to uncover usability, edge cases, and integration issues
- Validate and triage defect reports in collaboration with Esri Support Services, review with development team for resolution
- Communicate quality status, risks, and recommendations via dashboards, written summaries, and verbal updates to support informed release decisions
- Review automated test coverage and results to assess effectiveness, surface gaps, and recommend areas for improvements
- Lead risk assessment for assigned features, evaluating functional, technical, and user-facing risks to inform test focus and release readiness decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of QA experience testing modern web applications in an Agile environment
- Experience with web UI test automation tooling such as Playwright
- Experience testing REST APIs and validating integrations (JSON/HTTP)
- Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript to read and reason about automated test cases to better understand coverage and recommend areas of improvement
- Intermediate understanding of web fundamentals (HTML/CSS, components, APIs) and UI/UX principles
- Intermediate understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and internationalization/localization (i18n/l10n) practices
- Proven problem-solving skills to isolate issues, document clearly, and collaborate effectively to resolve product deficiencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, Information Science, or another related technical
