- Collaborate with existing and prospective customers to translate real-world needs into practical, state-of-the-art GIS solutions
- Translate customer goals and strategies into actionable GIS solutions and deliver high-quality consulting
- Recommend strategies, architectures, and implementation plans tailored to customer requirements, including change management and migration activities
- Deliver innovative, cutting-edge technology solutions that maximize customer investment in GIS
- Manage multiple customer engagements throughout the full project lifecycle—from requirements gathering through design, build, and implementation
- Build and strengthen relationships with customers and partners to support long-term success
- Drive business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, developing proposals, navigating procurement processes, and managing program or contract renewals
- Work alongside a dynamic, cross-functional team of engineers and consultants to support cities, counties, and community-focused clients
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Completed 8+ years of professional experience in a consulting or technical role supporting similar responsibilities
- Designed, implemented, and administered enterprise GIS solutions for large-scale customers
- Translated business goals and strategies into effective geospatial solutions
- Communicated technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
- Applied modern implementation patterns such as client/server, cloud, APIs, and SaaS
- Developed project designs, work plans, budgets, and schedules
- Adapted to diverse customer environments and evolving technical landscapes
- Earned a bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, or a related field
- Recommended: Worked with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled applications, spatial analysis, or similar geospatial technologies
- Recommended: Applied advanced analytics patterns to solve complex business problems
- Recommended: Earned a master’s degree in GIS, geography, or a related field
