About the role

  • Design new features for ArcGIS Pro, ensuring they are user-friendly, impactful, and align with Esri's design standards. Your designs will enhance the user experience and drive innovation in our GIS applications
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights, validate design concepts, and ensure our solutions meet user needs and expectations
  • Work closely with product owners, engineers, developers, and other designers to ideate, prototype, and iterate on solutions. Your collaborative efforts will ensure seamless integration and functionality
  • Create comprehensive design specifications, including user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes, to effectively communicate design ideas and facilitate implementation
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in UX and GIS. Apply this knowledge to continuously improve our design processes and product offerings
  • Conduct competitive analysis of existing products in the marketplace to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
  • Lead design efforts from brainstorming and sketching to prototyping and implementation
  • Ensure all design work maintains a high standard of quality and aligns with project goals
  • Advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience by considering user needs at every stage

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with proven experience designing complex software features or workflows
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities, how you think, and a strong understanding of client objectives
  • Experience using Figma, Figma UI Kits, adhering to established pattern libraries and required frameworks
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale to stakeholders
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, and translating findings into actionable design improvements
  • Bachelor’s in Product Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or a related field
