About the role

  • **What we are looking for:**
  • Escape Velocity is looking for an experienced Principal Systems Designer. You are a master of spreadsheets, possess strong analytical skills, and love the challenge of interpreting large amounts of data and determine the right knobs to turn to give players a fantastic metagame experience. Your Excel knowledge is strong, your systems design is top notch, and your understanding of major game systems is unparalleled. You are exactly the designer we need for an exciting new AAA IP at Escape Velocity Entertainment.

Requirements

  • **What you will bring:**
  • - A can-do attitude that is player oriented…systems design is one of the most technical areas of design, but you remember that simplicity is often a player’s best friend.
  • - At least two shipped AAA games where you worked in a systems design capacity on initiatives related to player investment, i.e. systems and features supporting how players spend time and money to earn content.
  • - Expert knowledge of off-the-shelf design tools, and expertise with Unreal Engine (UE5 preferred)
  • - Professional understanding of the many major metagame systems found in contemporary multiplayer titles, and a keen know-how for how those systems work.
  • - Mentorship skills that include truly caring about the career growth of those that work for you and around you.
  • - Strong creative and technical problem solving skills.
  • - Exceptional communication skills
