About the role

  • Lead and promote a safety culture amongst all OHL and Poling framework contractors
  • Ensure the safety and competence of contracting resources
  • Manage the compliance of all Poling framework contractors in an efficient manner
  • Partake in any incident investigations that they may be asked to partake in
  • Provide safety and technical expertise support to the CPG Training and Approvals team
  • Carry out and schedule safety and quality audits per agreed audit schedules
  • Support and coach contractors on safety, standards, training and performance
  • Support the Contractor Poling Approvals Team Leader in the development of CPG Safety strategy
  • Conduct safety and technical assessments on all Poling framework contractors
  • Use appropriate IT systems to assist in the management of day-to-day activities
  • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide clear, timely communications to all timber framework contractors

Requirements

  • A minimum of relevant 5 years’ work experience
  • Knowledge of Company standards for Poling on the Overhead Electricity Network
  • Knowledge of ESB OHL Network Assets
  • Knowledge of the ESBN Safety Rules and Procedures
  • ESB Networks Business knowledge
  • Knowledge of ESBN Network Operations and Procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate/A suitable Level 7 or higher qualification in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical or other suitable alternative qualification with a sizeable electrical theory content.
