Job Level

About the role

  • Lead sustaining engineering activities including cost‑reduction, design improvement, and obsolescence management (EOL).
  • Plan and execute project subtasks such as circuit analysis, testing, validation, and risk assessments while ensuring compliance with product specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Develop hardware test plans, conduct validation, troubleshoot failures using measurement equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers).
  • Collaborate with procurement, vendors, and suppliers to evaluate cost, lead times, supply‑chain risks, and ensure component and product compliance.
  • Support customer‑acceptance and certification activities; communicate non‑compliance incidents and internal audit findings to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers, technicians, and cross‑functional partners, ensuring project alignment and compliance with engineering methodologies.
  • Prepare and lead design reviews, technical summaries, and presentations for leadership and external customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering roles with strong grounding in analog/digital design, component behavior, RF constraints, and PCB layout comprehension.
  • Proven ability to review, sustain, and cost-optimize existing designs, including addressing component obsolescence and solving board-level issues without direct involvement in NPI ownership.
  • Skilled in interpreting schematics, block diagrams, BOMs, electrical specifications, and supplier trade-offs for space-constrained, manufacturable designs.
  • Hands-on expertise using oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies, and spectrum/network analyzers for troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Experienced working within structured product development processes, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure designs meet performance, RF integrity, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
Benefits
  • Comprehensive benefits including health and life insurance
  • Retirement plans
  • Vacation & holidays
  • Professional growth opportunities to manage multiple product lines and broaden expertise across Resideo’s security portfolio.
  • The opportunity to work for a global company with opportunities for career advancement.
  • The opportunity to intimately support the process of certification and approval for unique product launches across the globe.
