Design all necessary requirements for Conexon Fiber Design for off system builds. Use of Engineering software for fiber design and field verification. Field verification of pre-design. This includes verification of fiber routes, tap and splice placement, address correction and any obvious make ready issues. Scheduling with timeline production and tracking Cost control for the client and Conexon Production verification and invoice reconciliation with production Weekly status reporting
Requirements
Thorough understanding of NESC communications standards and clearances is a plus but not required. Knowledge of commonly used engineering platforms is a plus. Katapult knowledge is preferred. Knowledge of utility attachments, ROW permitting, construction and quality control. Strong mapping / GIS skills (Google Earth, ESRI, Partner, etc.) and electric distribution system mapping is a plus Understanding of FTTH plant design – distributed tap experience preferred Microsoft Office Suite – strong spreadsheet skills required Ability to work from a mobile office in the field – laptop, iPad, smartphone, etc. Ability to be in a vehicle for long periods of time. Use of field measuring tools – height stick, range finders, wheel, etc. Strong oral and written communication and employee supervision skills Ability to read and navigate with electronic maps and GPS Understanding of RUS electric assembly units is a plus but not required Basic understanding of different funding and grant awards is a plus but not required Be comfortable working in a remote environment. This position is almost completely remote. Candidate will need to be a responsible, motivate employee without the need for daily oversights. Additional duties as assigned This does not mean that the FTTH Design Engineer must perform all of these tasks, but the applicant will perform in these areas of responsibility.
