About the role

  • Distinguish the cause of damage for appropriate policy coverage
  • Issue settlement checks and maintain appropriate records
  • Establish rapport with agents and claims adjusters
  • Contact policyholders and claimants regarding complaints from the original adjustment
  • Attend appropriate training sessions
  • Handle assigned material damage claims
  • Evaluate antique and classic cars for coverage value at Underwriting’s request
  • Serve on catastrophe duty, including possible short-notice travel to other locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two years of experience in a body shop or general claims handling, or completion of a formal ERIE training program, required
  • Must live in the assigned territory unless a company-approved change is made
  • Preferred residence within the Louisville, Lexington, Elizabethtown, and Dry Ridge region
  • Active Kentucky adjuster’s license preferred
  • Completion of General Insurance program preferred
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must serve on catastrophe duty, which may require short-notice travel to other locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks
  • Use of personal protective equipment required
  • Ability to move over 50 lbs using lifting-aide equipment
  • Ability to perform required climbing/accessing-heights, driving, lifting/moving, manual keying/data entry/computer use, and pushing/pulling activities
