About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provides legal representation to ERIE and its insureds in litigated matters.
Oversees day-to-day office operations and ensures alignment with corporate goals and standards.
Independently handles a complex caseload.
Provides leadership, mentoring, and performance management to other attorneys and staff within the office.
Serves as the primary liaison between the local trial office and ERIE’s Home Office Law Division.
Manages overall operations of designated area of authority.
Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel.
Prepares and conducts performance assessments.
Monitors and reports on office performance metrics, litigation outcomes, and operational efficiency.
Collaborates with corporate leadership on strategic initiatives and policy implementation.
Participates in training and development programs to enhance litigation and trial advocacy skills.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required.
Fifteen years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, required.
Admitted to practice, and in good standing, in Pennsylvania required.
Admitted to practice, and in good standing, in the Federal Courts in Pennsylvania preferred.
Some periodic or overnight travel required.
Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
