About the role
- Provides legal representation to ERIE and its insureds in litigated matters.
- Oversees day-to-day office operations and ensures alignment with corporate goals and standards.
- Independently handles a complex caseload.
- Provides leadership, mentoring, and performance management to other attorneys and staff.
- Serves as the primary liaison between the local trial office and ERIE’s Home Office Law Division.
- Manages overall operations of designated area of authority.
- Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel.
- Represents ERIE and its insureds in civil litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
- Monitors and reports on office performance metrics, litigation outcomes, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required.
- Fifteen years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, required.
- Admitted to practice, and in good standing, in Pennsylvania required.
- Some periodic or overnight travel required.
- Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
