Civil/Environmental Engineer – Stormwater
ERGCivil/Environmental Engineer supporting the management and assessment of stormwater infrastructure for various clients. Focusing on technical growth and compliance in a remote role.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide stormwater compliance assistance support to regulated entities, which may include performing inspections and developing annual reporting documentation
- Support stormwater program implementation, including municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) permit and Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirements
- Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and infrastructure inspections to collect data and document existing conditions
- Perform erosion and sediment control inspections of active construction sites
- Support infrastructure planning efforts related to stormwater management
- Provide stormwater reviews of engineering plans, calculations, and permit documentation for new construction, renovations, and infrastructure improvements
- Support the development of compliance-related metrics, databases, and regulatory research
- Contribute to technical support efforts for national stormwater permitting programs, including data evaluation, permit development, and permit reissuance activities
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 0-5 years of professional engineering experience
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (college transcripts required)
- Internship or project experience in environmental consulting, stormwater management, land development, or related fields
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets and statistical analysis to compile, analyze, and present data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking, and the ability to develop quality client-ready deliverables
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with local, state, or federal stormwater requirements is preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% in support of site assessments, field investigations, and client requirements
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
