Support a manufacturing area at a federal facility site in Indian Head, Maryland
Perform all aspects of engineering duties in support of material and end-item production
Identify and resolve production delays, such as issues related to procurement, material and part quality, and equipment breakdowns
Prepare, review, and edit technical documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), product technical data packages and specifications, equipment and facility drawings, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
Perform statistical analysis to track production progress and in-process and end-item quality
Perform engineering calculations that support process design, equipment configuration, and process condition establishment decisions for mass and energy balances, heat transfer calculations, and pump sizing
Analyze existing or planned equipment and processes for the purposes of optimization, changes, and maintenance
Perform market research and work with client procurement processes and organizations to obtain necessary equipment for conducting operations
Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including teams such as quality testing and manufacturing departments
Interact and coordinate with ERG personnel at the federal site and ERG’s Fairfax and Arlington offices
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the engineering field (aerospace, chemical, industrial, manufacturing, mechanical)
0-2 years of experience
Minimum GPA of 3.0 (college transcripts required)
Strong organizational and planning skills, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), meticulous attention to detail, highly motivated, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with limited oversight
Proficiency in using spreadsheets and statistical analysis to compile, analyze, and present data
Coursework in or experience developing hazard analyses, risk assessments, SOPs, and other technical documentation
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
